Best Hikes in Park City

Start your day with your pick of Park City hikes. Begin near town on the 4-mile-long Armstrong Trail, where you'll see wildflowers in summer and fiery red and yellow leaves come fall. Or experience Park City's mining heritage on the Daly Canyon Trail, where a path following a creek gradually leads you uphill to an iron bunker marked “Explosives” and other mining-era structures.

Experience Utah's Olympic History

Relive the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City at the Utah Olympic Park. Here you can race down a bobsled track, speed down a zip line, complete a ropes course, go extreme tubing down a ski jump, watch Olympic hopeful ski jumpers train, and visit the Eccles Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum.

Explore Park City's history on Main Street, where preserved Victorian-era mining structures house modern restaurants, bars, and art galleries. Browse dozens of specialty retail shops and more than 20 art galleries in these reimagined spaces. Delve further into the area's history at the Park City Museum, with exhibits on silver mining, skiing, and Wild West saloons. For a break from walking Main Street, you can hop aboard the free town trolley. 

Catch a Concert

Summer brings big-name bands to Park City's many outdoor amphitheaters. Pack a blanket for shows under the stars most weekends (and some weekdays) at the area's ski resorts. You can catch intimate performances at Park City Song Summit, usually held in August.

Shop the Market

From June through September, Park City's Main Street transforms itself into Park Silly Sunday Market, an open-air street festival featuring everything from artisan crafts to local produce and live music. Grab a bite to eat at food trucks lining the block, then sip a build-your-own Bloody Mary or craft beer in the beer garden for those of legal age. (Note: The event is not held on certain dates in July or all of August.) 

Wednesday brings the Park City Farmers Market to the Park City Mountain First Time parking lot, where you can shop for locally made treats and gifts.

Once home to the railroad, this unpaved path now winds 28 miles through farmland and wetlands to Echo Reservoir.

Ride the Alpine Slide

Experience an adrenaline rush racing down one of the world's longest alpine slides. Ride a scenic chairlift up the mountain, grab a sled at the top, and control your speed as you race down the 3,000-foot concrete course.

Attend a Festival

Summer and fall welcomes festival season to Park City. In early August, art lovers flock to the city to see works by renowned artists at the Kimball Arts Festival. On Labor Day, Park City celebrates Miners Day, a community event filled with mining competitions, a pancake breakfast, live music, and social events. In early October, the Park City Wine Festival features culinary experiences and grand tastings throughout town.
